Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft's AI business, stated at an employee meeting that Microsoft's independently developed MAI-Base-2 model outperforms OpenAI's similar products, with training computational power being only one-fourth of OpenAI's. The model adopts a Mixture of Experts architecture, with a total of 2.8 trillion parameters and 80 billion activated parameters. Private comparative tests by Microsoft show that MAI-Base-2 performs better in understanding and predicting information patterns. Microsoft is striving to reduce its reliance on OpenAI and increase investment in self-developed models.
