On October 14, OpenAI announced that a high-tech recording device was found within its office premises. This device had been covertly installed by an employee a few days prior. Consequently, the employee in question has been terminated from their position. OpenAI clarified that there is currently no evidence to indicate that the employee had unauthorized access to or extracted model weights, source code, or customer data. Furthermore, the company has reported the incident to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for further investigation.
