Recently, users of the macOS iteration of ChatGPT have reported notable performance hiccups, with the application consuming excessive CPU resources even during idle periods. This has resulted in elevated Mac temperatures and prolonged periods of high-speed fan operation. Such issues have sporadically surfaced in prior versions as well, with the common remedy being to downgrade to an older, more stable release. However, in the case of the most recent update, downgrading to the versions released on October 1st, September 26th, and September 24th failed to rectify the problem. Interestingly, after reverting to version 26.917.62051, which was released on September 23rd, the application's performance returned to its usual smooth state.
