On August 26, Google Cloud unveiled a suite of new tools designed to assist companies in minimizing and managing their AI usage expenses. With its Gemini Enterprise service now featuring a pay-as-you-go pricing model, companies are no longer required to commit to fixed subscription fees. Instead, they have the flexibility to set a monthly spending limit, and once this budget is depleted, the AI agent will automatically pause its services. Long-standing customers are eligible for discounts ranging from 10% to 20%, and even greater savings of up to 50% can be achieved for specific tasks performed during off-peak periods. Google (GOOG.O) explained that this initiative is intended to make it easier for companies to experiment with AI and to drive further growth in the enterprise AI market. Simultaneously, Google remains committed to pushing the boundaries of AI research and development, maintaining its competitive edge against rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
