On August 17, OpenRouter, a global AI aggregation platform, announced a 50% reduction in API call costs for OpenAI's flagship model, GPT-5.6 Sol. The cost per million Tokens for input has dropped from $5 to $2.5, while the output cost has decreased from $30 to $15. On the same day, hosting platform Vercel also launched a limited-time offer, halving the call costs for GPT-5.6 Sol in both standard and Fast modes on Vercel until September 18.
