DeepSeek began preliminary negotiations with new investors this week for a new round of financing, planning to raise funds at a pre-investment valuation of $71 billion. According to three sources, DeepSeek completed its first external funding round at the end of May this year, raising approximately $7 billion, with about $3 billion coming from founder Liang Wenfeng, resulting in a post-investment valuation of $52 billion. DeepSeek's initiation of a new round of financing in a short period aims to secure sufficient funds for large-scale data center construction and artificial intelligence chip procurement.
