On July 9, 2026, Google unveiled a new feature within its 'My Ad Center' platform—a labeling system for AI-generated content. Now, when users encounter ads on Google Search, Google Discover, or YouTube that have been either fully generated or partially edited by AI, they can easily access the source of creation. This is done by simply clicking the menu or information icon located on the right side of the ad. From there, users have the option to block or report the ad if they wish. Looking ahead, ads crafted using Google's proprietary AI tools will be automatically marked as such. Meanwhile, ads created with other AI tools will necessitate advertisers to manually affix the label. In certain regions, an explicit 'AI-generated' tag will be prominently displayed on the ads themselves. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing transparency in advertising. It empowers users by providing them with insight into the ad creation process, thereby fostering greater trust and confidence in the platform.
