According to Business Insider, generative AI is accelerating its integration into primary and secondary education, sparking widespread concern among American parents. Deloitte's latest back-to-school season survey reveals that half of parents are worried about their children's over-reliance on AI tools, while also believing that schools are inadequately prepared for AI education. The survey, covering 1,150 parents of school-age children, shows that about 30% say their children have already used generative AI in school assignments, but only 22% of parents confirm that schools provide officially recognized AI tools, and 33% say schools have established guidelines for AI use. Additionally, over one-third of parents believe that schools have not adequately provided AI skills education, with some planning to enroll their children in AI tutoring courses at their own expense to bridge the gap.
