Microsoft has developed the Copilot system, internally known as Project Aion. This innovative system is constructed upon the foundation of the Microsoft Edge browser and a streamlined Web3 Windows codebase, meticulously tailored for AI-driven scenarios. It marks a significant departure from the conventional Windows interface by eliminating the traditional Start menu and desktop icons, instead relying entirely on AI-based interactions for all operations.
To engage with Copilot, users can effortlessly click on the taskbar located at the bottom of the system. Upon activation, the window that appears presents three distinct options: 'Stay on Top' for maintaining visibility, 'Create something new' for initiating fresh tasks, and 'News of the day' for staying informed. Additionally, the taskbar introduces a novel Spaces function, which intelligently organizes opened applications and websites into categories. This Spaces feature also extends its presence to the Start menu, enabling users to effortlessly open a collection of tabs and applications with a single click.
It's worth noting that this system does not accommodate traditional Windows native applications. Instead, it exclusively supports web apps and website access. For users who require desktop applications, Microsoft suggests utilizing Windows 365 as an alternative solution.
