On June 16, 2026, Alibaba Cloud made an announcement that its desktop AI assistant, QoderWork, had formally introduced the 'Consciousness' functionality. This new feature is composed of three primary modules: memory, reflection, and skill evolution. The memory system adopts a hierarchical framework, providing an organized way to store and retrieve information. Meanwhile, the reflection mechanism takes cues from the human brain's selective forgetting processes. This not only mimics a natural cognitive behavior but also guarantees data security. All memories are kept locally in an open Markdown text format, which gives users the freedom to edit them as they see fit. The system assesses the worth of conversations by employing a multi-factor weighted scoring model. It initiates the evolution process while keeping the additional overhead within a 5% limit. When it identifies high-frequency repetitive tasks, it automatically comes up with skill suggestions. Users can then make an informed decision on whether to implement these suggestions. It's worth noting that QoderWork had already been compatible with multiple workstations and vertical industry suites prior to this update.
