European AI startup Mistral AI is in early-stage talks with investors for a new funding round, aiming to raise €3 billion at a valuation of approximately €20 billion. Headquartered in France, the company raised €1.7 billion in its Series C funding round in September 2025 at a pre-money valuation of €10 billion, with ASML leading the investment with €1.3 billion. Despite being smaller in scale than its U.S. competitors, Mistral AI has leveraged its geographical advantages to establish partnerships with multiple European companies. Recently, the company collaborated with Airbus to enhance AI applications in sovereign aerospace, and also worked with BMW to develop industry-specific collision simulation AI models.
