Recently, Amazon has rolled out a new generation of fully automated warehouse robot named Proteus. In contrast to the model that first made its appearance in 2022, this new system boasts human-like language interaction capabilities. This means that employees can now directly issue instructions to the robot using natural language, eliminating the need for professional software programming. Amazon has emphasized that this upgraded robot is an integral part of its automation strategy and will work in tandem with employees to boost operational efficiency. Nevertheless, there is considerable external concern regarding whether this development will lead to further replacement of warehouse jobs.
