In April 2026, Anthropic released its new model, Mythos, which excels in uncovering software security vulnerabilities. It has already identified thousands of high-risk vulnerabilities across all major operating systems and browsers. Due to the high risks involved, Mythos is not fully open to the public. Instead, it provides restricted access to 12 core partners and over 40 critical infrastructure organizations through the "Glass Wing Initiative" for defensive security purposes. Anthropic has committed to providing $100 million in usage credits to support vulnerability patching and emphasized that Mythos will not be released to the public market until the development of safety safeguards is complete.
