Modern AI image generators are advancing rapidly, with common flaws in early images—such as deformed limbs, garbled text, and strange noise patterns—being gradually eliminated through engineering improvements. Today, many synthetic images can deceive the human eye and are widely disseminated on social media. However, a study published in the journal Science points out that these models still fundamentally do not understand how light and geometry operate in the real world, making physical laws one of the most reliable tools for identifying image authenticity.
