On March 27, during the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, the Beijing Advanced Brain-Computer Interface Research Institute was officially inaugurated at the Brain-Computer Interface Innovation and Development Forum. Led by Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University and with Zhao Guoguang, the hospital's president, acting as the chief scientist, the institute will establish a medical-engineering collaborative R&D model, relying on the resources and expertise of Xuanwu Hospital. Looking ahead, the institute plans to construct six shared support platforms, encompassing neural electrophysiological data resources and intelligent algorithm development. Additionally, it aims to create a multimodal neurological disease database, develop a large-scale neural electrophysiological model, and formulate treatment plans for neurological diseases, thereby establishing a comprehensive chain from data collection to validation.
