On March 30, 2026, Apple removed the AI application builder named 'Anything,' which is centered around the concept of 'vibe coding.' The removal was based on a breach of App Store Review Guideline 2.5.2, commonly referred to as the 'self-contained rule.' Prior to this, Apple had consistently denied update requests for analogous apps such as Replit and Vibecode. Apple clarified that its action was not directed at vibe coding as a practice, but rather at preventing apps from dynamically modifying their core functionalities via external code. The developers of 'Anything' made efforts to comply by shifting code previews to the web, yet their attempts were unsuccessful, resulting in the app's complete removal from the App Store. At present, certain similar apps are still accessible on the App Store.
