Germany plans to significantly expand its AI infrastructure by 2030, aiming to at least double its data center capacity and sharply increase computing power, with the government targeting an approximately fourfold expansion in AI processing capabilities. The Digital Minister has proposed several measures, including reserving land, accelerating approval processes, encouraging supply chain coordination, and adjusting incentive policies to increase municipal tax revenues for cities hosting new data centers. Although Germany remains open to foreign investment, it places greater emphasis on building European and domestic capabilities. Currently, companies like Amazon dominate data center spending in the region, with Germany's data center capacity expected to reach approximately 530 megawatts by the end of 2025.
