On the eve of the United Nations Global Fraud Summit in Austria, eight leading U.S. tech companies—Google, Amazon, and OpenAI among them—signed the Anti-Online Fraud Services Agreement. This pact seeks to outline a framework for cross-platform cooperation among the signatories in the fight against fraud, while also fostering collaborative efforts between the tech industry, governments, law enforcement, and NGOs to address this issue. The other signatories include Microsoft, LinkedIn, Meta, Adobe, and Match Group. The agreement encompasses several key strategies, including improved information sharing, the deployment of innovative defensive tools, rigorous identity verification processes, and the establishment of accessible reporting channels.
