Zhipu has issued an official apology letter alongside a compensation plan in response to the issues encountered with the GLM Coding Plan. The company has identified three key problems with the recent revamp: a lack of transparency in the rules, a sluggish rollout of GLM-5 grayscale releases, and a subpar upgrade mechanism for existing users.

Following the launch of GLM-5, there was a sudden spike in traffic, and the system's scaling capabilities were unable to match this rapid increase. Consequently, Zhipu decided to gradually open up services in a phased manner, prioritizing Max, followed by Pro, and then Lite. At present, the Max service is fully accessible, while the Pro service is available but may be subject to traffic limitations during peak hours. As for the Lite service, it will be progressively rolled out in a grayscale fashion during off-peak times after the holiday break. The company encourages Lite and Pro users who have been adversely affected to proactively apply for refunds.
