On October 29th, reports surfaced indicating that Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, is slated to visit South Korea this week. During his visit, he intends to unveil an AI chip supply agreement with prominent South Korean enterprises, including Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Group. This strategic move is poised to unlock fresh business opportunities for all parties involved and pave the way for NVIDIA to penetrate deeper into pivotal markets.

For South Korean companies, forging closer ties with NVIDIA translates to a more reliable and steady supply of GPUs, which are indispensable for training and operating artificial intelligence models. According to individuals privy to the matter, NVIDIA's chip supply plans extend beyond Samsung and Hyundai Motor. The company also aims to provide chips to SK Group. SK Group is channelling 7 trillion won (equivalent to roughly $4.9 billion) into the construction of an AI data center in South Korea. Among its subsidiaries is chipmaker SK Hynix.

Huang is anticipated to make an official announcement regarding this cooperation ahead of his attendance at the APEC CEO Summit in Gyeongju on Friday.
