Notably, it features, for the first time, a human-like bionic face, an addition that has sparked a reaction among some netizens, who believe it evokes the 'uncanny valley effect.'

On October 23, Wang Xingxing, the visionary founder of Unitree Robotics, addressed these concerns at a conference. He explained that the decision to incorporate a bionic human face was driven by public anticipation. Furthermore, he shared exciting news that the third humanoid robot, the R1, is now poised for mass production, with deliveries anticipated to commence from the end of this year and continue into early next year.

The term 'uncanny valley effect' was coined by Japanese robotics expert Masahiro Mori back in 1970. It encapsulates the theory that human emotional responses towards robots undergo significant shifts as these machines increasingly resemble humans.
