Today, the Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with seven other departments, jointly issued an implementation guideline on "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation." The guideline advocates for the launch of initiatives aimed at advancing large-scale intelligent driving models and comprehensive evaluation technologies, while also expanding the range of service scenarios.
Simultaneously, it encourages the pooling of innovative resources in key regions such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Yangtze River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone. This strategic move is designed to promote the demonstration and application of intelligent assisted driving technologies in a steady and cautious manner, in full compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Additionally, the guideline underscores the importance of driving technological testing innovations, with a particular focus on intelligent driving scenarios for freight vehicles operating on major transportation corridors.
Moreover, it proposes the utilization of existing infrastructure, such as highway ETC gantries, and the adoption of models that integrate multiple poles and sensors. This approach aims to facilitate the scientific deployment of collaborative perception and control systems for vehicles, roads, and clouds, ultimately enhancing the public's travel experience.
