China Telecom has officially announced the commercial launch of its 5G-Advanced package on May 17, promising a significant boost in network speeds, reduced latency, and an expanded capacity. According to the company's first-quarter financial report for 2025, China Telecom reported a revenue of 134.509 billion yuan, marking a slight increase of 0.01%. Additionally, the company recorded a net profit of 8.864 billion yuan, up 3.11% year-on-year. The number of 5G users has surged to 270 million, with a penetration rate of 62%. Furthermore, the penetration rate of gigabit broadband users stands at approximately 30%. The total mobile user base now stands at 429.47 million, with an increase of 4.95 million in the first quarter alone, including 15.48 million new 5G subscriptions.
