By 2025, Mercedes-Benz intends to streamline its dealer network in China by reducing over 100 dealers, a move aimed at optimizing its sales structure and enhancing operational efficiency. With over 700 dealers currently, China's market has witnessed an oversaturation that has fueled price wars and escalated operational costs. To address these challenges, Mercedes-Benz will focus on consolidating underperforming dealerships and adjusting support staff accordingly. Earlier this year, in February, Mercedes-Benz China took a proactive step by laying off approximately 15% of its workforce, a decision that significantly impacted the sales system. Furthermore, to fortify its financial health, the company will persist in implementing global cost-cutting measures, aiming to streamline operations and bolster its competitiveness.
