Tesla's anticipated "more affordable model," slated for production in the first half of 2025, has garnered significant attention. Recently, Joe Tegmeyer, a dedicated drone operator who closely monitors the Giga Texas factory in Texas, captured footage of a unique test vehicle, hinting that the rumored "Model 2" is edging closer to becoming a tangible reality. This test car bears a resemblance to the Model Y in silhouette but features a more compact design, lacking body panels and a roof. Comparable test vehicles have also been observed at the Fremont factory in California. Tesla's Vice President of Automotive Engineering has confirmed that the new model will adhere to the existing design philosophy while offering a more accessible price point.
