Nissan Motor has officially abandoned its $1.1 billion investment plan to construct an electric vehicle battery factory on Kyushu Island. The facility, originally set to employ lithium iron phosphate technology with an investment of 153.3 billion yen, was projected to generate 500 new jobs.
