On May 6, Zoox, the autonomous driving company owned by Amazon, announced a voluntary recall of 270 self-driving taxis due to a software malfunction. According to a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an incident took place in Las Vegas on April 8, where an unoccupied Zoox vehicle collided with a passenger car, causing minor damage to both. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. This recall is directly linked to the aforementioned accident, and Zoox has filed a recall application to address the software issue.
