Ford Motor Company has reported first-quarter results that surpassed expectations. Nevertheless, the company has opted to withdraw its full-year earnings guidance due to the substantial impact of President Trump's automotive tariff policy. In its announcement, Ford noted that despite its robust business performance, with adjusted Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) pre-tariff ranging from $7 billion to $8.5 billion—in line with projections—the anticipated automotive and parts import tariffs are expected to impose a net negative impact of $1.5 billion on adjusted EBIT by 2025. As a result of this heightened risk, Ford has rescinded its previous earnings forecast. Consequently, Ford's shares declined by 2.7% in pre-market trading on Tuesday.
