According to CUI Dongshu, Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Association, March 2025 witnessed the installation of 56.6GWh of lithium batteries, marking a substantial year-over-year increase of 62%. Among these, LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries exhibited robust performance, with a year-over-year growth rate of 97% for installed capacity, accounting for 82% of the total. Conversely, the installed amount of ternary batteries declined by 12% year-over-year, contributing only 18% of the total. Regarding power battery production, the actual installation ratio slipped to 40%, with ternary batteries and LFP batteries achieving installation rates of 39% and 40%, respectively. Furthermore, March 2025 saw the production of 1.12 million units of new energy vehicle products with qualification certificates, a 53% year-over-year increase. From January to March, the total number of domestic new energy vehicle qualification certificates reached 2.61 million units, up 44% compared to the same period last year.
