The static acceptance process for the Wuhan-Yichang high-speed railway has commenced. This section, designed to operate at a maximum speed of 350 km/h, boasts a main line length of 313 km and the construction of seven new stations. As a crucial component of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu Yangtze River High-Speed Railway, the Wuhan-Yichang section is anticipated to commence operations by the end of September 2025, significantly reducing travel time between Wuhan and Yichang. The Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu Yangtze River High-Speed Railway, stretching approximately 2,080 km in total, is being constructed in phases, including the Wuhan-Yichang section, with full operational status targeted for the end of 2030.
