The letter outlined measures in response to the high-speed collision and explosion of a Xiaomi SU7, including investigating the accident's causes, considering improvements, maintaining transparent communication, and vowing to uphold safety commitments for the next decade. However, shortly after, insiders revealed that the letter was a forgery, and the individual responsible was identified as a senior automotive reviewer who subsequently deleted the post and issued an apology. Xiaomi officially responded, stating that the news was fake and that neither Xiaomi's official Weibo account nor Lei Jun's personal Weibo account had released any related content. On the evening of April 1, Lei Jun himself had indicated his commitment to actively addressing the issue.
