The Hubei Provincial Government's General Office has recently unveiled the "Work Plan for High-Quality Development of Characteristic Industrial Clusters of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Hubei Province (2025-2027)", outlining a blueprint to establish 50 provincial-level and 30 national-level clusters of SMEs by 2027. The plan emphasizes prioritizing support for Wuhan's intelligent connected vehicles, Xiangyang's renewable resources, and Yichang's equipment manufacturing, among others, with an ambitious target of fostering clusters valued at tens of billions of dollars. Additionally, Xiaogan's salt chemicals, Jingmen's power batteries, Xianning's intelligent electromechanical systems, and Suizhou's special vehicles are earmarked to develop clusters worth $5 billion. Huangshi's copper-based new materials, Jingzhou's petroleum equipment, Shiyan's auto parts, Huanggang's mass healthcare, and Xiantao's non-woven fabrics are set to cultivate clusters valued at $3 billion. Ezhou's diamond tools, Enshi's selenium-rich food, Tianmen's clothing e-commerce, and Qianjiang's electronic new materials are committed to forming clusters worth $1 billion. This initiative aims to expedite the emergence of nationally and globally influential specialty products and industries, thereby elevating the county-level characteristic industries to new heights.
