On March 12, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) commenced the process of reversing former President Biden's vehicle emission regulations, which were designed to bolster the production of electric vehicles. This action aligns with current President Trump's broader strategy to dismantle the Biden administration's electric vehicle production initiative. Previously, the Trump administration had already abandoned the objective of achieving more than 50% electric vehicles in the U.S. new car market by 2030. Furthermore, the administration has halted government funding for the construction of electric vehicle charging stations and is contemplating the elimination of tax credits and subsidies for electric vehicles, all indicative of its policy's disinterest in supporting the development of electric vehicles.
