On March 13, Counterpoint Research published a report revealing that global sales of connected cars surged by 8% year-on-year in 2024. Notably, 75% of passenger vehicles now come equipped with embedded cellular connectivity, marking a 4 percentage point increase from 2023. Among automakers, BYD emerged as the fastest-growing player globally, achieving a remarkable growth rate of 34%. India, meanwhile, led the pack with a growth rate of 25%. Counterpoint forecasts that by 2028, more than half of all cars worldwide will boast embedded 5G connectivity.
