Backed by Geely, ECARX Technology has established a partnership with Volkswagen, aiming to incorporate ECARX's technology into Volkswagen models destined for the European and American markets. This collaboration has already borne fruit in the Brazilian and Indian markets, where smart vehicles equipped with ECARX's Antora 1000 digital cockpit system have been successfully launched. ECARX boasts independent capabilities in chip and software development, enabling features such as voice recognition and advanced navigation. After an extensive evaluation of 13 suppliers globally, Volkswagen selected ECARX's solution for its innovation and reliability.
Currently, Geely accounts for 70% of ECARX's revenue, but the company has ambitious plans to diversify its revenue streams. By 2028, ECARX aims to reduce Geely's contribution to below 50% and expects overseas market revenue to comprise 50% of its total revenue by 2030. To achieve these goals, ECARX is significantly expanding its overseas R&D team. In the highly competitive Chinese market, ECARX leverages a well-established supply chain to fuel its growth and expansion into the global arena.
