On October 22, during the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Guo Shougang, Director-General of the Department of Equipment Industry I at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), disclosed that in December 2025, two automotive companies, Changan and BAIC, secured conditional approval for their L3 autonomous driving products. Presently, the second-phase pilot program for approval is progressing steadily. Relevant departments are committed to enhancing vehicle operation monitoring and safety measures, drawing insights from past experiences, and providing robust support to ensure the safe operation of intelligent connected vehicles.
