On October 21, at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, revealed that Xiaomi has built the world's largest consumer-grade IoT platform. As of the end of the second quarter, Xiaomi's global IoT device connections exceeded 1.1 billion units. To enhance the ecological experience, Xiaomi has continuously increased its R&D investment in underlying hardcore technologies such as chips, operating systems, and AI embodied intelligence in recent years. Over the past 5 years, Xiaomi has invested RMB 105.5 billion in hardcore technology R&D, with related investments expected to exceed RMB 200 billion in the next 5 years.
