On October 16th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, organized a symposium attended by over 30 leading automotive manufacturing companies. The objective was to enhance the oversight of automotive product innovation, R&D, testing, and verification processes. The symposium mandated that automakers comply with the quality improvement initiative, refrain from engaging in irrational competition, and prioritize product safety. Moving forward, the relevant ministries will expedite the development and revision of pertinent standards, elevate safety benchmarks, maintain ongoing oversight of key enterprises, and address and publicly disclose instances of non-compliance in accordance with legal procedures. This is intended to encourage companies to reinforce their product testing and verification efforts, uphold safety standards, and foster high-quality growth within the automotive sector.
