On October 14 (local time), the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Toyota will recall nearly 31,000 hybrid vehicles in the United States. Due to software issues, the hybrid systems in these vehicles may shut down during acceleration. The recall involves the 2026 model year Rav4 plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between July 22, 2025, and August 19, 2026.
