On October 15, data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance revealed that in September, China’s total sales of power and energy storage batteries soared to 222.7 GWh. This figure marks a slight month-on-month decline of 0.2%, yet it represents a significant year-on-year surge of 52%. Specifically, sales of power batteries reached 149.2 GWh, constituting 67.0% of the total sales volume. This segment experienced a month-on-month increase of 1.7% and a year-on-year rise of 35.0%. Meanwhile, sales of energy storage batteries amounted to 73.5 GWh, accounting for 33.0% of the total. Although this category saw a month-on-month decrease of 3.7%, it achieved an impressive year-on-year growth of 104.4%. From January to September of this year, the cumulative sales of power and energy storage batteries have reached 1,681.7 GWh, reflecting a robust year-on-year increase of 57.6%.
