The first two production lines of the first battery cell factory at CATL's Debrecen plant in Hungary have initiated trial production. They are currently in the stage of equipment and manufacturing process commissioning, optimization, and validation, preparing for formal mass production. Construction of this factory began in the summer of 2023, received its usage permit in August this year, and has completed all preliminary rectification work. During the trial production period, the plant will maintain communication with local authorities, continuously monitor employee health, safety, and environmental indicators, and proactively submit the results. The Debrecen plant is CATL's second battery factory in Europe, primarily serving European automakers. Since autumn 2024, the plant has produced a cumulative total of 537,000 battery modules. Once all facilities are completed, the planned total production capacity will reach 100GWh, making it potentially CATL's largest production base outside of China.
