On the afternoon of September 21, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held a video call with Zipse, President of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) and Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group. The two sides exchanged views on topics including China-EU economic and trade relations and cooperation in the automotive industry. Wang Wentao pointed out that China is willing to work with the EU to resolve differences through dialogue under the trade and investment consultation mechanism, safeguard the stability of China-EU economic and trade relations, and provide certainty for global economic development. He hoped that the European Automobile Manufacturers Association would play a bridging role, encouraging the EU to work together with China towards an early solution that complies with World Trade Organization rules and domestic laws of both sides while taking into account the interests of the industries on both sides.
