On September 18, as per the latest information from the State Administration for Market Regulation, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd., along with BYD Auto Co., Ltd., has submitted a recall plan to the administration in compliance with relevant regulations. Specifically, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. is recalling 58,026 units of the Tang series vehicles manufactured between March 28, 2015, and December 21, 2018. Additionally, 77,846 units of the new-generation Tang DM series vehicles produced from May 19, 2018, to January 14, 2022, as well as 7,023 units of the new-generation Tang EV series vehicles crafted between December 27, 2018, and October 25, 2021, are also included in this recall. Meanwhile, BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is recalling 40,316 units of the Qin series vehicles produced from June 27, 2014, to June 9, 2019. The recall is prompted by the discovery of an abnormal batch of materials used in the brake pedal stopper pads. These pads may develop cracks and break after extended use, and in severe cases, they could detach completely. This would result in the brake lights remaining illuminated even when the brake pedal is not being pressed, thereby posing a significant safety risk. To address this issue, BYD will authorize its dealers to replace the faulty stopper pads with improved ones free of charge. It is worth noting that some vehicles that have already undergone pad replacement will not require a second replacement.
