On September 17, Bentley’s official website released the second teaser for its inaugural all-electric vehicle, the Torcal, offering a glimpse into its hand-assembly line. The car is slated for an official unveiling at 19:19 British time on September 23, which translates to 2:19 AM Beijing time on September 24. Bentley has poured over £350 million into the development of this new model, revamping a factory building dating back to 1938 at its Crewe headquarters in the UK and incorporating automated guided vehicles for vehicle transportation.

Built upon Volkswagen’s PPE luxury all-electric platform, the Torcal is poised to become Bentley’s most powerful and fastest-accelerating production model to date. It flaunts a maximum power output of 850 horsepower, capable of accelerating from 0 to 96km/h in under 3 seconds, with its top speed capped at 250km/h. Furthermore, the car will come equipped with advanced features such as air suspension.

In terms of its powertrain, the Torcal draws upon the front motor from the Audi Q6 e-tron and the rear motor from the all-electric Cayenne, while sharing the all-electric Cayenne’s 113kWh battery. While prioritizing performance, the new car also places a strong emphasis on comfort, retaining Bentley’s hallmark elements with an interior adorned with gradient wood trim, 100% Merino wool upholstery, and a curved infotainment system.
