According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. has submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, in compliance with the relevant regulations and their implementing measures. The recall, bearing the number S2026M0118V, is set to commence immediately. It involves certain imported S1000RR motorcycles manufactured between October 27, 2020, and April 7, 2026, with a total of 5,593 units affected.

The recall is prompted by a design flaw that, under specific operating conditions, may cause the internal components of the ignition lock on these motorcycles to wear due to vibrations. This wear can result in poor electrical contact and ignition misfires. Should the ignition be interrupted, the engine will stall, and all electrical functions, including the headlights, instrument cluster, and auxiliary systems, will cease to operate, thereby posing a potential safety risk.
