Maserati is embarking on a profound strategic partnership with Huawei and JAC, a move that is seen internally as a "self-rescue" endeavor, aimed at co-creating new luxury new energy vehicles. In this collaboration, Huawei will supply technology associated with its Harmony Intelligent Mobility platform, JAC will be responsible for vehicle engineering and manufacturing, and Maserati will bring its styling design expertise and overseas sales channels to the table. The product range encompasses a large all-electric GT and a mid-to-large all-electric SUV, with the all-electric GT being given priority for launch. This model will go head-to-head with the Aston Martin Vanquish and Bentley Continental GT. In terms of sales, a "dual-brand" approach will be adopted. The Luxeed brand will take center stage in China, while the Maserati brand will be utilized overseas. Maserati will also wield greater decision-making authority over overseas sales channels, with exports following a Semi-Knocked-Down (SKD) strategy. Previously, Maserati has encountered challenging times. By 2025, its global shipments had plummeted to below 8,000 units, marking a drop of over 80% from its peak in 2017. The adjusted operating loss soared to €198 million, with a profit margin of -27.3%.
