On September 10, news emerged that WeRide (00800.HK), in partnership with global mobility leader Uber and AVOMO—the autonomous driving division of Moove Cars Group—and with backing from the Madrid government, has jointly secured Spain’s inaugural L4 autonomous passenger vehicle operating license. This license, issued by the Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) under the ES-AV framework, authorizes the deployment of autonomous vehicles on public roads. Following the completion of preparatory tasks and compliance with operational and regulatory standards, the three collaborators anticipate launching commercial Robotaxi services to the public by 2026.
