According to data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) from the General Administration of Customs, in July 2026, China imported 43,000 complete automobile units. This figure reflects a 13.0% increase compared to the previous month, yet it also indicates a 12.8% decrease when compared to the same period the previous year. The total import value for these vehicles reached USD 2.12 billion, showing an 11.8% rise from the preceding month but experiencing a 15.5% drop year-on-year. For the initial seven months of 2026, the cumulative import of complete vehicles stood at 244,000 units, which is a 10.9% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. Correspondingly, the cumulative import value during this period amounted to USD 11.56 billion, marking an 18.0% decline year-on-year.
