Recently, a road test vehicle for the upcoming mini Land Rover Defender has been spotted. This new model, which might be christened the Defender Sport or Defender 80, will boast dimensions smaller than those of the Defender 90 and is set to rival the Mercedes-Benz 'Baby G'.

In terms of design, it showcases a familial front fascia, characterized by robust and sharply defined pillars and a roofline. The vehicle is fitted with concealed door handles, adding a touch of modernity. The tailgate swings open sideways, and the license plate holder is neatly integrated into the central recess of the bumper.

Anticipated to be constructed on the cutting-edge EMA platform, this mini Defender will offer both pure electric and hybrid powertrain options. It will incorporate an 800V electrical architecture, enabling support for rapid charging at speeds of up to 350kW. The official launch is slated for 2027, with pricing details to be announced at a later date.
