On September 3, during the '2026 World Dynamic Battery Conference,' Yin Tongyue, the Chairman of Chery Holdings, announced that when it comes to next-generation battery technology, Chery adheres to the principle of 'pursuing multiple solutions concurrently and never integrating unsafe technologies into vehicles.' Adhering to this principle, Chery has developed the Rhino battery with three distinct series: hybrid, pure electric, and solid-state. Notably, the solid-state cell boasts an impressive energy density of 400Wh/kg. Yin Tongyue disclosed that the Rhino solid-liquid hybrid variant is slated for vehicle installation in the fourth quarter of 2026, with full solid-state batteries earmarked for on-vehicle verification in 2027.
